I am so excited to be launching Red Couch Reading's first complete online literature course for homeschooled high school students & small private schools - the year-long course Intro 2 Lit. A special welcome is in order for our two international missionary high schools as well! They will be beta-testing with us during the 2016-17 school year - each from a different continent. Isn't that wonderful?
Please feel free to view the welcome video for Intro 2 Lit, to download the teacher guide for the first quarter and look through the schedule, the teacher helps, the lesson outlines, and also to download and peruse the Scope & Sequence. I feel sure you will find that Intro 2 Lit is designed to be a great learning experience - challenging and thoughtful, yet a lot of fun and including plenty of opportunity for students to express their ideas and reflections on the literature they are reading.
I am proud to be able to offer a self-contained, online, anytime, affordable, quality course especially designed to empower parents to have the important conversations about literature with their students. Literature contains lessons on life, character, choices, and so much more - these are the discussions we homeschool to have! You will need a good internet connection to be able to view the lecture discussions with Miss Cara each week. In addition, you will want a printer for the student quizzes, homework, and classwork. Short stories and poems may be read online, on a tablet, or printed, as the student prefers.
