BEFORE you start to read...here is a littler reminder of where we are in history!:
Week 2 - Well NOW we have something to talk about! Now that you have done a little reading, let's think about why and where this play came from, who wrote it, and why he would have chosen this topic for a play! We will go scene by scene as well, digging down into the punny humor and wordplay of the master - the Bard!

Week 3, beginning of class discussion - hello...PORTIA & Calpunia are amazing characters, aren't they? We can see the strain growing in Rome, as Caesar seems to gladly accumulate power. Some find that threatening to the Republic...what do YOU think will happen? Let's review what we know:
Week 3, end of class - Ms Cara will set you up for this NEXT week's incredible Act III - wow!
Week 4, Beginning of class discussion - do you KNOW the three rhetorical persuasive techniques? Do you know they are all around you? Wherever we look or listen, in advertising, in politics, in all sorts of media - someone is trying to persuade us of something! Let's take a deep dive into the funeral oratories of Brutus and Antony, compare & Contrast them...and see what we find out about persuasion...

Welcome back to the Red Couch Reading Room for our final session with Julius Caesar! Let's review our reading from this week, and then analyze the entire plot, looking for theme and answers to some deeper questions about character and meaning!
